NTCB Supervisor Certfication for Instructors
The NTCB is currently revising the Blueprint for Supervisors and Instructors so we are not offering certification at this time. However, we do recommend that supervisors follow the Supervision Model outlined here for your use.
NTCB Supervision Model
Supervisors are expected to implement a five-step supervision program for all technicians including Certified Neurotherapy, Peak Performance, and Biofeedback Technicians. This five-step supervision program is to help assist the Supervisor in designing an educational program for the technician that will meet a minimum of forty percent (40%) of the applicable Blueprint.
Shadowing Clinical Training
- Twenty total hours of shadowing
- Shadow three to five clinicians
Teaching Clinical Skills
- Student does self-training under your supervision
- Student trains clients under your supervision
- Student encouraged to attend seminars and conferences
- Student required to read journals, books and research
Supervising the Student
- Student suggestions are encouraged
- Student encouraged to attend seminars and conferences
- Student required to read journals, books and research
Empowering
- Collegial relationship is encouraged
- Can progress to Partner or Associate position
- May seek independent certification at this point
- Probably fewer than twenty percent of students reach this level
Supervision
- Student has become independent
- Probably less than five percent of students reach this point
