Certified Raindrop Practitioner
and Specialist

The NTCB is affiliated with The Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education, Inc. (CARE) - a non-secular educational organization dedicated to assembling research and disseminating information on the healing properties and therapeutic applications of essential oils. The focus of the program is to teach Raindrop Technique and associated skills, as originated and taught by D. Gary Young This is accomplished through a series of courses that anyone can take. These include the Healing Oils of the Bible, Applied Vitaflex, Raindrop Technique, Emotional Release, Essential Oil Science and Chemistry, Basic Principles of Aromatherapy as well as Hands-on Practice and other Healing Skills.

The Natural Therapies Certification Board offers two designations for those who have been approved by CARE:

1. Participants who have satisfactorily completed the first 72 hours of the CARE Certification Program, which includes completion of the formal classes of a CARE Intensive (Reqs. 1-5, 25 hrs.), have completed the non-class practicums (Reqs. 6-10, 43 hrs.) and the Return Demonstration (Req. 11, 4 hrs.) have the option of applying for the Certified Raindrop Practitioner (CRP) designation. The Scope of Training for the CRP includes:

Applied Vitaflex
(4 hours)
Raindrop I
(4 hours)
Chemistry I & II
(5-6 hours)
Bible Oils
(2 hours)
Raindrop II
(4 hours)
Emotional Release
(4-5 hours)


The Scope of Practice for the CRP includes:

  • Practice of Applied Vitaflex
  • Practice of Raindrop Technique

Note: The CRP Certification Program was implemented on August 1, 2007. Those who have completed a CARE Intensive, the Return Demonstration (Req. 11), and all requirements leading up to the Return Demonstration before August 1, 2007, may download an application form, or request one from CARE. They may complete the form and mail it with a check and certification fee indicated on the application to CARE. Applications are considered on an individual basis. If you are not approved, your fee will be refunded with explanation.

2. Certified CARE Instructors (CCI) in good standing may apply for Board Certified Raindrop Specialist (BCRS) certification. Scope of Practice for the BCRS is as follows:

  • Practice and teaching of Raindrop Technique

  • Practice and teaching of Vitaflex Technique

  • Anointing and teaching of the oils of scripture

  • Teaching the chemistry and science of essential oils

  • Practice and teaching of emotional releasing with essential oils

Each designation is good for one year and recertification is contingent upon accumulating 20 CEUs (continuing education credits). CEUs may accumulate through taking the Aromatherapy Coach Program, Healer Coach Program seminars, workshops, and attendance at CARE, Young Living Essential Oils or other aromatherapy conferences. To receive the first Spiritual Healer License or renew your certification, the Aromatherapy Coach Program or Healer Coach Program is required.

3. All applicants must complete a 10 week approved coaching program which includes professional ethics, code of conduct, informed consent form training and a coaching practicum. Applicants may apply to Healer Coach (5 weeks) or Aromatherapy Coach (5 or 10 weeks).
